Summer of the Spirit: Sundays in August
While summer at St. Paul's involves fewer formal programs, it's still a time for strong fellowship, robust discussions and engaging worship!
Here are some of the highlights that you won't want to miss!
August
August 7 – Photo scavenger hunt - Catch ‘em all – Get your team together now for a St. Paul’s scavenger hunt at 9:45. Bring your cell phone to document your journey as you discover treasures in St. Paul’s nooks and corners. You might catch a few Pokemon, too. Prizes for the first children’s team (age 7-12), youth team (ages 11-18), family team (mixed age, including at least one person under age 18) and general team to find all the items. Guests welcome.
August 14 – Pictionary! Join in a rousing game of Pictionary in the parish hall at 9:45.
August 21 – Baby Shower for Highland Educational Project – Celebrate the fact that we can all help welcome new babies into the world, by helping us put together diaper bags for new mothers in McDowell County, WV through our mission trip partner. You can contribute by helping to pack after the 8:45 service (all ages welcome!), and by donating any of the following items:
- New diaper bags (empty)
- Packages of diapers size Preemie, Newborn, Size 1, or Size 2
- Packages of diaper wipes
- Packages of onesies
- Packages of warm pajamas (size newborn, 6 mos.)
- New or gently used children’s or board books (suitable for reading to babies, ex.: Good Night Moon, Pat the Bunny)
- New or gently used baby clothes – up to size 2T.
August 28 – Sunday FUN DAY!
Blessing of the Backpacks at both services
Kona Ice truck during the coffee hour following the 8:45 service
Parish picnic in Mt. Lebanon Park starting at 1 pm
And if you are traveling this summer, don't forget to take Flat Jesus with you!
