New Wednesday Evening Program on Exploring Questions of Our Faith
Are you someone who has been a Christian for a long time, but sometimes still wonders about the basics? Or are you someone new to God and the Church who wants to get a better idea of what this Christianity thing is really all about? Are you interested in being Confirmed or Received by the Bishop when he visits in May? Then join us starting Wednesday evening, February 17, for Transforming Questions. In this program, we will seek to move into deeper life in Christ by engaging in some of faith’s most basic questions: Who is Jesus? Does God answer prayer? How do I read the Bible? Why bother with Church? What do bad things happen to good people?
Each week we will gather for a meal at 6:30, hear a talk by Michelle, Lou, or Garrett on one of the central questions of the Christian faith, and then join in small-group discussion. Through both listening and sharing, we will wrestle with these foundational questions in the context of faith and in the company of fellow parishioners. As we do so, we will find an opportunity to learn more about Jesus, and to connect more deeply with others as we talk about these crucial questions. The program will end each evening by 8:30.
We will provide childcare but we will need to know how many children are coming. Please email Lisa Brown at lcbrown@stpaulspgh with the ages of your children if you would like to have childcare. The program runs through Wednesday, March 16, and then takes a two-week break for Holy Week and Easter, and resumes for a final five weeks on Wednesday, April 6.
