Epiphany Party & Worship
Let there be Light!
Wednesday, January 6
Dinner and Epiphany Photo Booth - 6pm
Sparkler Parade & Worship - 7pm
Winter in Pittsburgh is dreary. Christmas is over. Months of early sunsets and dismal weather forecasts stretch indefinitely. Darkness looms, literally and figuratively. If you are desperate for something encouraging, join us for the celebration of Epiphany! Stars in the sky, light in the darkness! Magi and myrrh! Gold and frankincense, wonder and riches!
It's easy to let Epiphany slide by unnoticed. Christmas, with all its busyness, can leave everyone a little burned-out from all of the celebration. Too much food, too much festivity. Pageants and presents run amok. But Epiphany in all its wondrous glory can be exactly the balm the over-stressed soul needs! The concept is simple – wisemen following a star, arriving to bear gifts to the Christ-child, God made manifest in human form. Christ, our light in the darkness. Christ revealed to the world. What’s not to celebrate?!!
On Wednesday, January 6, all are invited to celebrate a glorious Epiphany. There will be a photo booth, a family-friendly dinner with Kings’ Cakes for dessert, followed by a sparkler procession outside. Yup, it’s going to be cold and dark, but doesn’t that make the light shine that much brighter?
At 7 p.m., a family-friendly Epiphany service will conclude our evening.
Let your light shine! Epiphany reminds us that it is our calling to be the light of Christ in the world!
