Baptisms at St. Paul's
Peter Balfe
Children & YouthHey, hey, what can I do?
We love to do Baptisms at St. Paul’s! Babies, children, or adults, they are all a wonderful celebration of new life in Christ as we welcome the newest members of the Body of Christ. And at St. Paul’s we believe that all baptized children should begin receiving Holy Communion as soon as they are physically able to do so.
We celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Baptism throughout the year at our Sunday morning services. Although there are several days during the year that are particularly set aside for Baptisms (All Saints’, Baptism of Our Lord, Great Vigil of Easter, and Day of Pentecost) , we also schedule them at other mutually convenient times. We prefer to wait for a child to be three months old or older before celebrating the Baptism.
To discuss the Baptism of a child or adult and to discuss potential dates, please call the Rev. Lou Hays at 412-531-7153, ext. 11. A session of preparation and rehearsal for the parents and godparents is normally held the day prior to the Baptism. We look forward to a joyful celebration!
